Product Introduction
The main methods for producing high-grade ferrotitanium include the aluminothermic method, the electrosilicothermic method, and the electrocarbothermic method. The aluminothermic method uses aluminum to reduce titanium concentrate to produce ferrotitanium. The resulting product has a low carbon content but high aluminum and silicon contents. The electrosilicothermic and electrocarbothermic methods each have their own unique characteristics, but strict control of process parameters is required during production to ensure product quality.
Product Applications
In Casting: Adding high-grade ferrotitanium to cast iron promotes the formation of fine-grained graphite. It also degassing, inoculating, purifying, and refining the casting structure, improving wear resistance, heat resistance, and mechanical properties.
In Welding Materials: Ferrotitanium can be used as a coating component in welding rods, improving weld quality and imparting greater strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance.
Other fields: High-grade ferrotitanium can also be used to produce special alloys such as nickel-based alloys and titanium-based alloys, as well as raw materials for powder metallurgy and hydrogen storage materials.
