Product Introduction
Feti 65%Min Ferro Titanium s a ferroalloy, an alloy of iron and titanium with between 10 and 20% iron and 45–75% titanium and sometimes a small amount of carbon. It is used in steelmaking as a cleansing agent for iron and steel.
Applications
High-Quality Steel Production: Feti 65% Min Ferro Titanium is used as a strong deoxidizer and desulfurizer. It preferentially combines with oxygen and sulfur in the molten steel during the production of plain carbon steel, low-alloy steel, and stainless steel.
Steel Microalloying: In high-strength low-alloy steel (HSLA), titanium combines with carbon and nitrogen to form nanoscale TiC and TiN precipitates. These precipitates effectively inhibit grain growth during heating and cooling, refining the grain size and ultimately improving the steel's strength, toughness, and weldability. It is commonly used in automotive steel and pipeline steel.
Foundry Industry: In cast iron production, the addition of ferrotitanium improves graphite morphology and reduces porosity and shrinkage defects in castings. Titanium also enhances the wear and heat resistance of cast iron, making it suitable for the manufacture of demanding mechanical parts such as engine blocks and valves.
Specialty Alloy Preparation: As an alloying element, it is used in the production of titanium alloys and titanium-containing high-temperature alloys. In some aerospace alloys, the titanium content is precisely adjusted by adding ferrotitanium to meet the material's special requirements for high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance.
