Product Introduction
The titanium (Ti) content of high-purity ferrotitanium is typically between 65% and 75%. For example, high-quality high-purity ferrotitanium available on the international market typically has a titanium content of 68% to 72%. It also contains iron and small amounts of impurities such as aluminum, silicon, carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus.
Product Applications
Casting: Adding titanium to cast iron promotes the formation of fine-grained graphite and also serves to degas, inoculate, purify, and refine the casting structure, thereby improving wear resistance. Adding titanium to heat-resistant cast iron can enhance the heat resistance of cast iron parts.
Other Applications: In the production of superalloys and aluminum alloys, high-purity ferrotitanium can be used as an additive to improve alloy properties. Furthermore, in welding rod production, ferrotitanium can be used as a coating component to enhance weld quality.
In steelmaking: As an alloying element, titanium refines the grain size of steel, improving its strength and toughness. Titanium reacts with carbon to form extremely stable titanium carbide, which prevents grain growth.
