Desulfurizer Calcium Silicon offers strong and thorough desulfurization capabilities: Calcium has a strong affinity for sulfur. Upon addition to molten steel, it rapidly reacts to form calcium sulfide (CaS). CaS is insoluble in molten steel and will float and separate with the slag.
It also provides a deoxidizing function, achieving dual purposes: In addition to desulfurization, both silicon and calcium are strong deoxidizing elements, reacting with oxygen in molten steel to form stable oxides (SiO₂ and CaO), which are discharged with the slag. Eliminating the need for specialized deoxidizers, the smelting process is simplified while simultaneously reducing oxygen content in steel, enabling the production of high-purity steel.
Optimizing steel quality and improving mechanical properties: It can alter the composition, morphology, size, and distribution of non-metallic inclusions in steel, aggregating small inclusions into larger particles that are easier to float and remove. It improves the steel's plasticity, impact toughness, and processing fluidity, ensuring subsequent steel processing and product quality.
Easy to use and highly adaptable: The bulk form can be added directly to converters, electric furnaces, or ladles, while the powder can be used in injection processes or as a continuous casting mold slag additive, eliminating the need to modify existing equipment.
