1. Calcium aluminum wire is the core material to ensure the performance of steel. Calcium aluminum wire reduces the oxygen content in the steel liquid to below 20ppm through deep deoxidation, and desulfurizes to below 0.005%, reducing the brittle defects caused by oxygen and sulfur. In addition, it can convert Al₂O₃ inclusions in steel into spherical calcium aluminates, avoiding the risk of cracking caused by the accumulation of inclusions in the heat affected zone of welding.
2. The low-melting-point inclusions generated by the reaction of calcium aluminum wire are easy to aggregate and float, reducing the number of solid inclusions in the steel liquid and reducing the defects of the ingot caused by inclusions. When continuously casting high-carbon steel, calcium aluminum wire treatment can reduce the nozzle blockage rate by more than 30%, improve the continuity and production efficiency of continuous casting, and increase the yield rate of ingots by 1%-2%.
3. Calcium aluminum wire is also widely used in the production of special steels such as high-strength steel for aerospace and corrosion-resistant steel for marine engineering. Aerospace steel needs to have extremely high strength and toughness to cope with extreme flight environments.
