The amount of carburizer added is determined according to the ratio and carbon content of other raw materials. Different types of cast iron, according to the need to choose different types of carburizer. The characteristics of the carburizer itself select pure carbon-containing graphitized substances to reduce excessive impurities in the pig iron, and the selection of the appropriate carburizer can reduce the production cost of the casting.

Gas Carburizing: Uses a hydrocarbon gas (like propane or ethylene) to introduce carbon into the metal's surface at high temperatures (900-950°C).
Vacuum Carburizing: Performed under vacuum, allowing for faster carburization times and potentially better control over the process.
