Heat-Treatable 440b Stainless Steel Sheet
Product Description
440b Stainless Steel Sheet has "high wear resistance + medium toughness" as its core characteristics. After heat treatment, the hardness can reach 58-60HRC (higher than 440A, lower than 440C). The wear resistance is better than 440A, but the toughness is slightly inferior; its corrosion resistance is close to 440A (better than ordinary martensitic stainless steel such as 410), and it can resist mildly corrosive environments such as fresh water and air, but its tolerance to strong acid and high salt environments is limited.
Products application
1. For outdoor knives (such as mountaineering knives and multi-purpose tool knives), they need to withstand outdoor friction and slight rain corrosion, with better performance than 440A and lower cost than 440C.
2. For high-pressure valve flaps and valve stems (such as hydraulic system valves), they need to resist high-pressure erosion of the medium, and their hardness and wear resistance are better than low-carbon stainless steels such as 410.
3. For making small hardware parts (such as pulleys and connectors) for yachts and fishing boats, the basic corrosion resistance can resist seawater splashing, and the high hardness prolongs the wear life.
4. For the production of small and medium-sized cold working dies (such as stamping dies and bending dies), the hardness is sufficient to cope with the cold processing of metal sheets, and the processing accuracy is easy to control.
