Product Description
440A stainless steel sheet is characterized by "balance between hardness and toughness". Compared with 440B/440C, it has a lower carbon content and a slightly lower hardness after heat treatment (usually 56-58HRC after tempering), but better toughness, not easy to brittle fracture, while maintaining the high wear resistance of martensitic stainless steel. It is a metal sheet that takes into account "practical hardness and processability". Because its toughness is better than that of high-carbon martensitic stainless steel, it is more suitable for manufacturing wear-resistant parts that require frequent force or impact, while avoiding the risk of fracture.
Products application
1.440A Stainless Steel Sheet is used to make household knives (such as kitchen scissors and fruit knives) and industrial light knives (such as thin blades). Its moderate hardness (after heat treatment) ensures sharpness, and its toughness is enough to cope with daily shearing forces without breaking.
2. The valve core and valve seat of small and medium-sized valves are suitable for pipeline systems with non-strongly corrosive media (such as water and air). It can resist the erosion of the media with its hardness, and avoid the impact damage during the switching process with its toughness.
3.440A Stainless Steel Sheet is used for auxiliary parts of non-implantable medical devices (such as axle pins and clamps of surgical instruments). It must meet the corrosion resistance (avoid rust pollution) and structural strength (to ensure operational stability) in a sterilized environment.
