Fabrication Techniques
Cold Working:
430 stainless steel can be readily cold worked to achieve various shapes and mechanical properties.
Cold working increases strength and hardness but reduces ductility.
Heat Treatment:
Annealing: Annealing at 800-900°C (1472-1652°F) followed by air cooling restores ductility and relieves internal stresses.
Stabilizing Treatment: Heat treating at 815-870°C (1499-1598°F) helps to stabilize the microstructure and improve corrosion resistance.
Machining:
430 stainless steel is easier to machine than many other stainless steels.
Proper cutting tools and techniques are required to avoid work hardening and tool wear.

Slitting tolerances are typically very tight, ensuring precision and consistency.
