Precipitation hardening stainless steel is a stainless steel with intermetallic compounds and some carbides precipitated in the aging process by adding Mo, Ti, Al, Nb, Cu and other elements to improve the strength. It can not only make it hard (strong) by precipitation hardening (also known as age hardening) treatment, but also maintain the excellent weldability, cold working formability and corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel. It has high strength, good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and excellent weldability and machinability.

Application field


Precipitation-hardened stainless steel is widely used in aerospace, petrochemical, Marine engineering, nuclear energy and medical equipment. Especially in the need of high strength, good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, such as the aerospace field of hatchcover lock, high-strength bolts, springs and other spare parts, as well as the petrochemical field of pipelines, valves and other components.

 

Heat treatment process


Precipitation hardening stainless steel through solution treatment and aging treatment to obtain excellent hardness, strength and corrosion resistance. Solution treatment is to heat the steel to high temperatures, so that the alloying elements are fully dissolved in the matrix, and then quickly cooled to inhibit the formation of precipitates. Aging treatment is to hold heat at a lower temperature after solution treatment for a period of time, so that the alloying elements are precipitated in the form of intermetallic compounds or carbides, thereby improving the strength and hardness of the steel.
