Hardening Stainless Steel

Precipitation hardening stainless steel is a type of stainless steel material with a special hardening mechanism. Through appropriate heat treatment processes, they form dispersed precipitation phases in the crystals in the solid solution state, thereby obtaining excellent hardness and strength.

Cold work hardening is to change the crystal structure of stainless steel through processing deformation, thereby increasing its tensile strength and hardness.
Common cold working methods include rolling, stretching, stamping and bending.

Hot work hardening is to process at a certain temperature to change the crystal structure of stainless steel, thereby obtaining higher hardness and strength.
Common hot working methods include annealing, normalizing and quenching.

Electrochemical hardening is to use the action of electrolyte solution and electrodes to form an oxide layer or nitride layer on the surface of stainless steel, thereby improving its hardness and corrosion resistance.
Common electrochemical methods include anodic oxidation, cathode electrophoresis and anodic rolling.

Hydrogen treatment hardening is to pass hydrogen through the surface of stainless steel at a certain temperature and pressure to cause a chemical reaction and form a sub-surface hardness layer.
This method can significantly improve the hardness and wear resistance of stainless steel.
