High Carbon Silicon Alloy 99% Purity is an alloy of silicon and carbon with a carbon content ranging from 0.5% to 3.0%. This alloy is used as a deoxidizer and an inoculant in the production of cast iron and steel. The high carbon content in the alloy helps in the formation of graphite in the cast iron and also imparts certain properties to steel like increased hardness, wear resistance, and strength.
