Products Description
Silicon barium calcium is a foundry additive used in steelmaking and casting. It acts as a deoxidizer, desulfurizer, and inoculant, improving the properties of the final product. It promotes graphitization, refines grains, enhances mechanical strength, and reduces section sensitivity in castings.
Product advantages
(1) High efficiency deoxidation, desulfurization and dephosphorization: Silicon barium calcium has strong deoxidation, desulfurization and dephosphorization capabilities, which can effectively reduce the oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus content in the molten metal, improve the purity of the metal, reduce defects such as pores and inclusions in the casting, and improve the quality of the casting.
(2) Good inoculation effect: It can strongly increase the graphitization core, promote the formation of type A graphite in gray cast iron, and improve the strength of gray cast iron. For ductile iron, it can make the graphite nodules small and uniform, improve the spheroidization grade, and enhance the mechanical properties of ductile iron.
(3) Strong anti-degradation ability: Its anti-degradation ability is about twice that of 75% silicon, which can maintain the inoculation effect for a long time, ensure the stability of casting quality, and reduce casting defects caused by inoculation decline.
(4) Reduce the tendency of white cast iron: It can significantly reduce the tendency of white cast iron in castings, reduce relative hardness, improve the cutting performance of castings, make castings easier to machine, and reduce processing costs.
(5) Improve the utilization rate of calcium: Barium can effectively reduce the vapor pressure of calcium within the steelmaking temperature range and increase the solubility of calcium in molten steel. Compared with silicon-calcium alloy, when the addition amount of silicon-barium-calcium alloy is only half of that of silicon-calcium alloy, the calcium content in molten steel can reach about twice that of silicon-calcium alloy, which improves the absorption efficiency of calcium by molten steel.
(6) Uniform and stable composition: Uniform chemical composition, low impurity content, uniform processing particle size, small deviation in composition and quality, which can ensure the consistency of the effect of each use and facilitate production process control.
