This film effectively prevents corrosive media from reacting with the elements within the alloy, resulting in strong corrosion resistance and resistance to attack by a variety of acids, alkalis, and other chemicals.
Usage Precautions
Storage Environment: Corrosion Resistance Silicon Calcium Alloy is highly hygroscopic. Humid environments can cause chemical reactions, affecting its quality. Therefore, it should be stored in a dry warehouse equipped with a dehumidifier. Silicon Calcium Alloy powder should be stored in a drying room to keep it dry.
Pre-treatment: Before use, the silicon calcium alloy can be baked at a low temperature of 200-300°C to remove moisture. This prevents moisture from entering the alloy, which could affect performance or cause safety issues.
Addition Method: When adding calcium-silicon alloy to steel, the oxidation of calcium and the high-pressure outburst of calcium vapor may cause flames and molten steel splashing, so safety precautions must be taken. The alloy should be preheated before addition, and addition should be rapid and uniform to avoid local overheating.
Composition Selection: The silicon and calcium content of the calcium-silicon alloy significantly influences its performance. When used as a diffusion deoxidizer, a calcium-silicon alloy powder with a content of approximately 80% should be selected. When used as a precipitated deoxidizer, a calcium-silicon alloy with a lower content and higher density should be selected.
