Calcium Silicon Alloy is an alloy composed of silicon, calcium, and small amounts of iron, aluminum, and carbon. It is an important metallurgical additive, appearing as silvery-gray lumps with a hard texture. It possesses excellent deoxidizing, desulfurizing, inoculating, and modifying properties, and is widely used in industries such as steel smelting, casting, and non-ferrous metal processing. It is a core auxiliary material for improving product quality and reducing production costs. Application Scenarios
Steel Smelting Industry: As a highly efficient composite deoxidizer, it is used in converter and electric arc furnace steelmaking processes to quickly remove harmful impurities such as oxygen and sulfur from molten steel, reduce oxide inclusions, and improve the toughness, strength, and corrosion resistance of the steel. Simultaneously, the calcium silicon alloy also acts as an inoculator, improving the microstructure of the steel and enhancing its quality. The smelting process occurs at 1500-1800°C in a strongly reducing atmosphere, using methods such as:

The primary chemical reaction is:
CaO + SiO₂ + 3C → CaSi + 3CO↑
However, in real industrial production, calcium silicate slag is formed, and carbon reduction occurs at high temperatures.
