Bulk Calcium Silicon Alloy for Steel Mills combines the potent deoxidizing capabilities of silicon with the strong desulfurizing and inclusion-modifying properties of calcium. Characterized by rapid reaction rates and high utilization efficiency, the deoxidation and desulfurization products generated are easily floated out and removed from the molten steel. This effectively resolves critical pain points in steelmaking operations-such as insufficient molten steel cleanliness, nozzle clogging during continuous casting, and poor steel toughness-thereby enhancing overall steel quality. The alloy is widely utilized in the production of various steel grades-including high-quality steels, low-carbon steels, and stainless steels-as well as in the manufacture of special alloys such as nickel-based and titanium-based alloys. Additionally, it serves as a heating agent in converter steelmaking and as an inoculant in cast iron production.

Applications

Converter/Electric Arc Furnace Steelmaking: Acting as a highly efficient deoxidizer and desulfurizer, the alloy is added in bulk to the molten steel to rapidly remove oxygen and sulfur impurities. This improves the fluidity of the molten steel, minimizes the formation of inclusions during the smelting process, and simultaneously functions as a heating agent to elevate the steel's temperature and shorten the overall smelting cycle.
High-Quality & Special Steel Production: This alloy is ideally suited for the production of standard high-quality steels-such as rail steel, low-carbon steel, and stainless steel-as well as specialized alloys like nickel-based and titanium-based alloys. It can serve as a substitute for aluminum in final deoxidation stages, effectively eliminating issues related to ladle nozzle clogging. Furthermore, it enhances the plasticity, impact toughness, and weldability of the steel, reduces the occurrence of micro-cracks, and ensures consistent product quality.
Cast Iron Production Support: As an inoculant for cast iron and an additive in the production of ductile iron, this alloy promotes the formation of fine or spheroidal graphite structures. It ensures a more uniform distribution of graphite within gray cast iron, thereby reducing the tendency toward "white iron" formation. Concurrently, it replenishes silicon content and facilitates desulfurization, ultimately elevating the quality of the cast iron and effectively meeting the specific cast iron production requirements of integrated steelmaking facilities.
