Product Description
Silicon carbide is an inorganic non-metallic compound composed of carbon and silicon atoms connected by covalent bonds. It has a density of 3.21g/cm³, is insoluble in water, and is easily soluble in molten iron and molten sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. It has no melting point and boiling point in the general sense, and decomposes and sublimates at 2700℃. It has a small thermal expansion coefficient, high thermal conductivity, and is subjected to less thermal stress when heated or cooled. It has a high hardness, only lower than that of several superhard materials, and the hardness varies depending on the crystal axis, crystal plane direction and temperature.
