Steelmaking Industry: As a primary deoxidizer in the steelmaking process, Silicon Metal 553 rapidly removes oxygen impurities from molten steel, minimizes oxide inclusions, and enhances both the purity and mechanical properties of the steel. Furthermore, acting as an alloying element, it boosts the steel's strength, toughness, corrosion resistance, and magnetic properties. It is widely employed in the production of various steel grades, including general structural steel, construction steel, cold-rolled silicon steel, and bearing steel.
Aluminum Alloy Production: As a critical raw material in aluminum alloy manufacturing, Silicon Metal 553 significantly improves the alloy's fluidity, castability, hardness, and wear resistance. It lowers the alloy's eutectic temperature, thereby reducing casting defects-such as cold shuts and misruns-and ultimately increasing the yield rate of finished products.
Refractory Materials & Casting: It is utilized in the production of refractory bricks and monolithic refractories, substantially enhancing their strength, thermal shock resistance, and erosion resistance.
