1-10mm Black Silicon Carbide

1-10mm Black Silicon Carbide is black with a metallic luster. It exhibits a hexagonal crystal structure, with polygonal particles and sharp edges. Its Mohs hardness is approximately 9.2, and its density is 3.2-3.45g/cm³. It has a high melting point, dissociating at approximately 2300°C, and a maximum operating temperature of 1900°C.

 Excellent High-Temperature Resistance: 1-10mm Black Silicon Carbide is stable at high temperatures, maintaining excellent high-temperature physical and chemical properties at 1600°C. Below 1400°C, a silicon dioxide film forms on its surface, preventing further oxidation. It can be used in high-temperature furnace components, supports, and other applications.
 Good Thermal Conductivity: Its high thermal conductivity allows it to quickly dissipate heat generated during grinding or use, making it suitable for use as a heat sink to prevent damage to workpieces or equipment due to overheating.

 Strong Chemical Stability: It is resistant to reacting with corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, and salts. In chemical processing applications, its coating exhibits a very low corrosion rate in corrosive environments such as sodium chloride solution and sulfuric acid. It can be used to create corrosion-resistant components or coatings, effectively extending the service life of equipment.
 Self-sharpening: During the grinding process, black silicon carbide continuously produces new cutting edges, improving grinding efficiency and maintaining the cleanliness of the machined surface. It excels in machining hard and brittle materials such as carbide, titanium alloy, and optical glass.
