420 stainless steel is a martensitic stainless steel that is known for its high hardness, good ductility, and resistance to wear and mild corrosion. It contains higher carbon content compared to other stainless steel grades, which gives it the ability to be heat-treated to high hardness levels.420 stainless steel provides moderate corrosion resistance due to its high chromium content. It performs well in mild environments but is less resistant to corrosion compared to higher chromium grades like 304 or 316.
