2205 Stainless Steel Sheet

The superior performance of 2205 Stainless Steel Sheet stems from its precise composition design and balanced microstructure. After solution annealing at 1040-1080℃, it forms an ideal structure of 50% ferrite and 50% austenite. Combined with an alloy composition of 22% chromium, 5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and 0.14-0.20% nitrogen, it achieves multiple performance breakthroughs. Its yield strength can reach over 450 MPa, and its tensile strength is ≥620 MPa, more than twice that of austenitic stainless steels such as 304 and 316L. This advantage allows for a 30-50% reduction in the wall thickness of equipment structures. In applications such as large storage tanks and pressure vessels, this reduces material consumption and transportation costs, while also reducing equipment weight and improving installation flexibility. At the same time, its elongation is ≥25%, demonstrating good plasticity and toughness, meeting the demands of complex processing such as cold forming and welding.

 Marine Environment: The 3% molybdenum content forms a dense oxide film, providing corrosion resistance far superior to conventional materials in splash zones and seawater immersion areas, making it a core material for offshore wind power, subsea pipelines, and ship ballast tanks.
 Acidic Conditions: 2205 Stainless Steel Sheet effectively resists corrosive media such as hydrogen sulfide and dilute sulfuric acid, and can withstand the harsh environments of oil and gas extraction and chemical reactors. It is specified as a standard material for manifold systems by companies such as PetroChina and Shell.
 High Temperature/Stress Environments: It can be used continuously at temperatures up to 300℃, with a strength degradation rate of less than 30% at high temperatures. It also resists chloride stress corrosion cracking, making it suitable for applications such as geothermal power generation and steam turbines.
