About 1/4 ID Steel Tubing (i.e. steel tubing with an inner diameter of 1/4 inch). Inner Diameter (ID): 1/4 inch, which is approximately 6.35 mm when converted to millimeters. Outer Diameter (OD): Due to the different wall thickness of the steel tube, the outer diameter will also vary. Common wall thicknesses are 0.02 inches, 0.028 inches, 0.035 inches, etc., and the corresponding outer diameters will also vary. For example, a steel tube with a wall thickness of 0.035 inches may have an outer diameter of approximately 6.35 mm plus twice the wall thickness, that is, 6.35 + 2 * 0.035 = 6.42 inches (the actual size may vary slightly due to manufacturing tolerances).
