Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Forming
Inconel 601 can be easily formed using standard manufacturing processes. It can be hot or cold worked, although cold working may require annealing to restore ductility.
Weldability
Inconel 601 exhibits good weldability using standard welding techniques like TIG, MIG, and resistance welding. Post-weld heat treatment is not always necessary but can be applied to relieve stresses and improve corrosion resistance.
Heat Treatment
The alloy is typically annealed at temperatures between 1149°C to 1204°C (2100°F to 2200°F) to optimize its mechanical properties.
