Its density is lower than that of steel, but it exhibits higher strength, hardness, and toughness.

Product Applications

 

 Steelmaking: High-Temperature Alloy High Carbon Silicon is an excellent deoxidizer, reacting with oxygen in molten steel to reduce the oxygen content, minimize defects such as pores and slag inclusions, and improve the purity and quality of the steel. It also acts as a recarburizer, adding carbon to the molten steel and promoting graphitization, thereby improving its plasticity and machinability. Furthermore, the addition of high-carbon silicon increases furnace temperatures, accelerates the reaction between the molten steel and elements, and improves the conversion rate of ferroalloys.

 Foundry Industry: It can be used as an inoculant and nodulizer to promote the precipitation and spheroidization of graphite in cast iron, refine grain size, improve the internal structure of castings, and enhance mechanical properties such as strength and hardness.
 Wear-Resistant Material Manufacturing: Due to its high hardness, it can be used to manufacture wear-resistant materials such as wear-resistant coatings and abrasives for use in machining, mining, and other fields, improving the wear resistance and service life of related equipment and components.
