Product Description
Ferro Silicon Nitride (often translated into Chinese as silicon iron nitride, abbreviated as "silicon iron nitride") is a composite alloy with iron, silicon and nitrogen as the main components, and usually contains a small amount of impurities such as carbon and oxygen. Its core is that silicon and nitrogen combine to form a silicon nitride (Si₃N₄) phase, and combine with an iron matrix, so it has both the high hardness and high temperature resistance of the ceramic phase (silicon nitride) and the toughness of the metal phase (iron).
Products application
1. Ferro Silicon Nitride is a composite deoxidizer. Silicon can react with oxygen in molten steel to form SiO₂ (floating up as slag), while nitrogen can fine-tune the mechanical properties of steel (such as improving strength). Compared with traditional ferrosilicon, it has higher deoxidation efficiency, and the introduction of nitrogen can reduce bubble defects in steel.
2. Ferro Silicon Nitride In the production of ductile iron or gray cast iron, ferrosilicon nitride can be used as an inoculant to refine grains, improve graphite morphology, and improve the strength and wear resistance of cast iron; at the same time, nitrogen can stabilize pearlite structure and increase the hardness of castings.
3. Ferro Silicon Nitride is added to refractory bricks and castables for steelmaking, and its high temperature resistance and resistance to slag corrosion are used to extend the service life of refractory materials (such as converters and ladle linings).
4. Wear-resistant parts: used to manufacture wear-resistant parts working at high temperatures, such as guide plates of rolling mills, blast furnace bells, etc., using its high hardness and wear resistance to reduce wear and reduce maintenance costs.
5. Ceramic binder: In high-temperature ceramic products, silicon iron nitride can be used as a binding phase to connect ceramic particles (such as alumina, silicon carbide), improve the strength and toughness of ceramic materials, and is suitable for high-temperature furnaces, heat-resistant pipes, etc.
