Production Process of Hot Selling Ferro Chrome from China Manufacturer
Raw Material Proportioning: Chromite, coke (reducing agent), and flux (limestone/silica) are mixed in a specific ratio to ensure ferrochrome recovery and impurity removal.
Submerged Arc Furnace Smelting: The mixture is fed into a closed submerged arc furnace, where electricity generates a high temperature of 1600-1800℃. Through a carbothermic reduction reaction, chromium trioxide in the chromite is reduced to metallic chromium, which combines with iron to form a ferrochrome alloy melt.
Slag and Iron Separation: During the smelting process, flux and impurities form slag. The density difference is used to separate the slag from the ferrochrome melt, and the slag is periodically removed.
Casting and Cooling: After tapping, the ferrochrome melt is poured into a mold and allowed to cool naturally or by forced cooling to form the final product.
Crushing and Screening: Cooled ferrochrome blocks are crushed and screened to obtain finished products with different particle sizes ranging from 10-70mm. After passing inspection, they are stored in the warehouse.
