Applications
High grade ferrochrome with ISO certification is a core raw material for stainless steel production. Globally, over 70% of high-carbon ferrochrome is used in stainless steel manufacturing, significantly improving its corrosion resistance and structural strength. It is also used in the production of tool steel, bearing steel, and other mechanical industrial steels, optimizing their machinability and service life. Furthermore, it can be used as an additive in cast iron for manufacturing wear-resistant cast iron parts such as rolls and grinding balls. It is also a basic raw material for producing silicon-chromium alloys and other chromium-based alloys.
Production Method
Pre-treat chromite ore (Cr₂O₃≥40%), coke, and silica. After drying and batching, mix thoroughly.
The furnace charge is fed into the submerged arc furnace and subjected to high-temperature reduction at 1600-1800℃ using an electric arc, where chromium and iron oxides are reduced by coke to form an alloy melt.
The melt undergoes oxidation, desulfurization, and dephosphorization refining, with real-time monitoring to ensure its composition meets standards.
The molten alloy is then cast, cooled, crushed, and screened before undergoing ISO standard testing; only qualified melt is released from the factory.
