Rare earth silicon magnesium cored wire, also known as spheroidized cored wire, utilizes magnesium as the primary spheroidizing element. Its main components include magnesium, rare earth elements, silicon, calcium, and barium. This additive is used in molten iron to promote the precipitation of graphite in a spherical shape, enhancing the properties of cast iron.

Production and Application

 

 

High-magnesium spheroidizer is wrapped in steel strip and processed into wire for easy application. During spheroidization, the cored wire is directly fed into the molten iron in the spheroidizing ladle using a wire feeder, allowing the spheroidization reaction to occur. This method achieves an absorption rate of over 90% and is widely used in the production of ductile iron castings.
