Pure calcium cored wire consists of an internal metal calcium core wrapped with a steel strip, making it a key material for molten steel refining treatment. It is introduced into molten steel using a wire feeder at a speed of 60-120 m/s, with a feeding amount of 0.8-1.5 m/ton, ensuring efficient calcium treatment in steel refining.

Production Process

 

Calcium wire with a specification of ¢7.5-¢7.8mm is coated with cold-rolled bright steel strips. Using specialized pure calcium cored wire production equipment, the edges are sealed, and the wire is rolled into coils weighing between 1 to 2 tons through a mold with an inner diameter of 600mm. The coils are then bundled with steel strips, wrapped in three layers of film, and stored either horizontally or vertically in iron racks and pallets.

 

Compared to calcium-iron cored wire, pure calcium cored wire has a thicker steel strip coating. After coating, the cored wire has a diameter of ∮9.5±0.5mm, ensuring uniform wire diameter, high tensile strength, and good toughness. It is resistant to breakage during wire feeding, making it easier to control the wire feeding quantity.

 

Pure calcium cored wire is suitable for steel grades treated with silicon-calcium cored wire and calcium-iron cored wire. It can significantly improve the calcium recovery rate by over 52%. During the wire feeding process, even at lower feeding speeds, it enables a deeper penetration into molten steel. The precise control of feeding volume ensures a stable and reliable process. The core wire is densely packed and securely wrapped, maintaining its effectiveness even during long-term storage.

 

For pure steel production, pure calcium cored wire is indispensable. It optimizes the production process, enhances product quality, and provides an ideal solution for manufacturing high-purity steel.
