Product Application
1. Steelmaking field: It can be used as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer to remove impurities such as oxygen and sulfur in molten steel and improve the purity of molten steel. At the same time, it can be added to steel as an alloying element to change the morphology and distribution of inclusions, refine grains, and improve the mechanical properties of steel, such as improving strength, toughness, wear resistance, etc. It can also improve the corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance of steel.
2. Casting field: In ductile iron production, it is an important spheroidizer and inoculant. It can spheroidize graphite, improve the toughness and strength of cast iron, improve the casting performance of cast iron, reduce casting defects, and improve the quality and dimensional accuracy of castings. It is widely used in the manufacture of various mechanical parts, automotive parts, pipe fittings and other cast iron products.
Production method
1. Raw material preparation: prepare raw materials such as rare earth oxide powder, metal aluminum powder, calcium oxide powder, magnesium calcium powder, and metal silicon powder to ensure that their particle size meets the requirements. Generally, the particle size of rare earth oxide powder, calcium oxide powder, reducing agent (metal silicon powder, etc.), and magnesium calcium powder is not more than 0.15mm, and the particle size of metal aluminum powder is not more than 0.25mm.
2. Core material preparation: rare earth oxide powder, metal aluminum powder, and calcium oxide powder are mixed and homogenized to make rare earth aluminum homogeneous powder, and magnesium calcium powder and metal silicon powder are mixed and homogenized to make magnesium silicon homogeneous powder. Then the two homogeneous powders are compacted into rare earth aluminum pellets and silicon magnesium calcium pellets with a particle size of no more than 5.0mm, and then the rare earth aluminum pellets, silicon magnesium calcium pellets and capture agent powder (such as anhydrous sodium chloride, sodium oxide, etc.) are mixed, homogenized, and compacted to make rare earth magnesium core blanks.
3. Encapsulation: Use a low-carbon steel protective tube shell to encapsulate the rare earth magnesium core billet into a strip-shaped rare earth magnesium core billet with an outer diameter not exceeding 16mm.
4. Rolling and straightening: The rare earth magnesium core billet is radially rolled and axially straightened to form the final rare earth magnesium core wire, whose outer diameter is generally not greater than 16mm.
