Product Description
Silicon Carbide SlC97 has extremely high hardness, reaching 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond. It is chemically stable, inert, resistant to oxidation, and infusible. It also exhibits high thermal conductivity, a low coefficient of thermal expansion, excellent thermal shock resistance, and wear resistance, with high strength even at high temperatures.
Product Applications
Abrasives: Silicon Carbide SlC97 exhibits excellent self-sharpening properties and can be used to make grinding wheels, grinding heads, and other abrasive tools for machining cemented carbide, titanium alloys, and optical glass. It can also be used for polishing jade jewelry and cutting solar cell substrates.
Metallurgy: It is an excellent deoxidizer. It accelerates the steelmaking process, helps control the chemical composition, and improves steel quality. It also increases carbon content, replacing some carburizers and reducing steelmaking costs.
Refractory Materials: Due to its resistance to oxidation, excellent thermal shock resistance, and high melting point, it can be used in the linings of petroleum gasifiers and desulfurization furnaces. It can also be used as liquid metal pipelines, linings for smelting furnaces, and crucibles for melting metal. It can also be used as kiln slabs in the silicate industry and as a raw material for rocket engine nozzles in the aerospace industry.
Chemical Industry: It can be used as a raw material for the production of silicon tetrachloride, a key raw material in the silicone resin industry.
