301 SS Strip

The key components of 301 SS strip are chromium and nickel. Its carbon content is slightly higher than that of 304, and it contains no molybdenum. The lower nickel content is the primary reason for its higher strength but lower corrosion resistance than 304. It has a density of 7.93 g/cm³, a melting point of 1400-1450°C, and an annealed tensile strength of ≥515 MPa, a yield strength of ≥205 MPa, and an elongation of ≥40%.

 Extreme cold-working properties: This is the most prominent feature of 301 SS strip. Through cold working processes such as cold rolling and stretching, its strength and hardness can be significantly increased while maintaining excellent elasticity. The higher the cold-working rate, the greater the strength and elasticity, making it suitable for the manufacture of highly elastic components.

 Excellent fatigue resistance: After proper processing, it can withstand long-term, repeated load impacts without fatigue fracture, making it an ideal material for fatigue-resistant components such as springs and spring clips.
 Good formability: Despite its high strength after cold working, it maintains good stamping, bending, and welding properties in the annealed state, allowing it to be processed into complex precision components. Appropriate post-welding treatment can restore some elasticity.
 Basic corrosion resistance: The presence of chromium ensures its stability in dry atmospheres and mildly corrosive environments, meeting general corrosion resistance requirements. However, its corrosion resistance is lower than that of 304, making it unsuitable for use in highly corrosive environments.
