Tensile Strength

Lower than many austenitic steels but suitable for high-temperature applications where the ability to resist deformation at elevated temperatures is critical.

Ductility and Toughness

Ferritic stainless steels are generally more brittle at low temperatures. For applications requiring high toughness, 446 might not be the best choice.

Weldability and Formability

446 is not particularly known for its weldability. Its high chromium and low carbon content make it less ductile than austenitic steels like 304 or 316, making it more challenging to weld or form without special techniques.
