Highly Efficient Deoxidation: The silicon in the Steelmaking Deoxidizer 75 Ferrosilicon has an extremely high chemical affinity for oxygen. Under the high temperatures of steelmaking, it rapidly reacts with oxygen in the molten steel. The resulting silicon dioxide has a lower density than the molten steel and rises to the surface as slag, effectively removing dissolved oxygen from the steel.
