Ferro Silicon Nodular Cast iron isn't a type of iron itself, but rather nodular cast iron (also known as ductile iron) produced using a ferro silicon magnesium (FeSiMg) nodulizer. The FeSiMg alloy is added to molten iron to promote the formation of spherical graphite nodules, which give the material superior strength, ductility, and impact resistance compared to gray cast iron.

 Improved Mechanical Properties: The addition of Ferro Silicon Nodular Cast Iron causes graphite to spheroidize. The graphite nodules in ductile iron act as stress concentration points, preventing crack propagation and thereby improving the material's strength, toughness, and ductility. Ferro Silicon Nodular Cast Iron's mechanical properties can approach or even approach those of steel.
 Improved Machinability: The spheroidized graphite acts as a lubricant during machining, reducing tool wear and improving surface finish. This improves the machinability of ductile iron and reduces machining costs.
 Stabilized Product Quality: Ferrosilicon inoculants effectively control the solidification process of ductile iron, increasing the number of graphite cores and refining the matrix structure. This results in a more uniform microstructure in the casting, reducing casting defects and improving product quality stability.
